About Me
- Sema Gurerk- Floweredsky Jewelry
- I am originally from the beautiful city of Istanbul, Turkey. I consider my culture as a unique resource from which I draw most of my work. I deeply enjoy sharing my creativity with children and adults alike, and have given several jewelry-making workshops in RI, most recently at the RISD Museum, where some of my special creations are also housed (in the Museum Shop.) I moved to the state of jewelry, Rhode Island after earning my B.S. in Chemical Engineering in Istanbul. In RI, I received my master’s degree in International Trade, later attended Rhode Island School of Design for silversmith classes. I have always been involved with jewelry design. While growing up in Istanbul, Turkey, I was an avid student with a passion of art. I was always a member of art clubs trying to exceed myself with a craving to learn marbelling, sculpting, jewelry design, working with different medias on oil paintings, acrylic and collage.
